This article explains what off-season wrestling programs are
like, what benefit they can provide to a wrestler, and how they
can easily fit into a busy calendar of activities.
Introduction
Each spring numerous off-season wrestling programs are formed
at
clubs throughout the US. These clubs are primarily freestyle
oriented, but occasionally a spring club will maintain a
traditional folkstyle program. Beginning around March, and often
extending through early summer, the clubs are intended to offer
wrestlers a chance to practice or compete in a much less intense
and also more weight relaxed environment ...

Kargbo Wins District Title, MatHawks finish 4th
Senior Sahid Kargbo claimed the 2012 National District Tournament Championship at 138 lbs this past weekend. Kargbo went 3-0 in the tournament, defeating Mount Vernons Marino Bailey by technical fall. As a team, the MatHawks finished in 4th place behind tournament champion Mount Vernon, runner-up Washington-Lee, and third place Yorktown.Kargbo, along with fellow teamates Ziad Adiyeh, Mohammad Dar, Stephen Sudik, Mark Allen, Vernon Hadley, Kaleab Fetahi, Robert LeGrande, Paul Strawderman, and Cordell Soileau will represent the MatHawks at the Northern Region Championships hosted by Hayfield.
