2006-2007 IMPORTANT INFORMATION
2006-2007 Travel Itenarary

Parent support is essential to the success of the MatHawks throughout the regular season, as well as the off-season.  There are many ways in which parents can support the team such as:

  • Working the concession stand at home meets.
  • Working tables at matches.
  • Working Hospitality room at home tournaments.
  • Driving the wrestlers to tournaments.

Below is an article by Steve Fraser, head coach of the USA Greco-roman team, called Parents Can Help Their Kids.  The discusses the sport of wrestling and how it can benefit your child, and how you can help him be successful not just in wrestling, but in life!  Click the link below to read the article.

Parents Can Help Their Kids, by Steve Fraser October 2005.

If you are new to the sport of wrestling, please click on the Parents Guide to Wrestling link below.  This article will provide you with an introduction and information you need to know to understand wrestling and its culture.  The coaching staff recommends that all parents read the guide.

Skin Disease

Skin Disease's in wrestling are very common, but can be avoided if wrestlers follow the coaching staff's advice.

Below is are tips which wrestlers should follow to avoid skin disease:

  1. All wrestlers should shower (with water and soap!!) immediately at the end of every practice, match, and tournament.
  2. Wear clean, fresh workout gear every practice.  Do not wear dirty workout gear two days in a row.
