Steven Ours Wins State Championship

Junior Steven Ours won his first state title defeating Jared King of Great Bridge in the finals to lead the MatHawks to a 5th place finish at the 2007 Virginia AAA State Championships.

Ours got to the finals with wins over Tyler Muth of Machenster by a score 10-6, Steve Courtney of Colonial Forge by score of 7-2 in the quarterfinals, and a win over Sean Kitchen of Douglas Freeman by a score 4-2. Ours became the first underclassman to win a state championship.
